“Teen Admits Hurling Bottle at Police in Southampton Protest”

An 18-year-old individual confessed to hurling a bottle at law enforcement officers during a protest concerning Henry Nowak in Southampton, resulting in violent incidents. Following the June 2 demonstration, Callum Cool, who was 17 at the time, admitted to engaging in violent behavior during a court hearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.

District Judge Robinson imposed restrictions on Cool, including the use of an electronic monitoring device with a curfew at his residence and a prohibition from participating in protests or gatherings exceeding 10 individuals. Cool, a resident of Robinia Green, Southampton, was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Southampton Crown Court for sentencing on June 29.

During the court proceedings, Judge Robinson informed Cool that his case would be heard at Southampton Crown Court for sentencing on June 29. Conditional bail was granted with the condition that Cool must attend the hearing on the specified date to avoid further legal repercussions.

The protest on June 2 was marked by approximately 1,000 individuals assembling outside Southampton Central Police Station. Subsequently, a group moved to the Portswood area, where Mr. Nowak was fatally injured, leading to the outbreak of disorder.

Cool is the 23rd individual to face legal charges in connection to the protest, with 13 individuals already serving jail time. The protest was triggered by police footage showing Mr. Nowak being handcuffed shortly before losing consciousness and passing away.

Vickrum Digwa, aged 23 and residing in a nearby neighborhood with his family, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for the murder of Mr. Nowak.
