A devastating incident unfolded in Thailand as a bar in Bangkok became engulfed in flames, resulting in multiple fatalities. Shocking video footage captured the chaotic scene as people desperately tried to escape the intense inferno.
The deadly fire, labeled as one of the worst in recent years in the Thai capital, claimed the lives of 27 individuals, according to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. Additionally, 22 individuals are in critical condition after the blaze at the Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao bar.
Witnesses observed a group of individuals outside the bar moments before thick smoke suddenly billowed from the entrance, followed by a fierce eruption of flames. Panicked patrons rushed to flee the engulfed establishment as black smoke filled the air.
Amid the chaos, a courageous individual attempted to extinguish the fire before emergency services arrived at the scene. The aftermath revealed charred furniture and a damaged interior, while reports indicated that many sought refuge in the bar’s bathrooms, where several casualties were discovered.
Authorities reported that at least 63 individuals sustained injuries during the tragic incident, possibly triggered by a short circuit in an air conditioning unit. Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, a popular live music venue in northern Bangkok, primarily catered to Thai nationals aged between 25 and 50.
