A group of dogs bravely pursued a man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault two women in broad daylight in Melbourne, Australia. The incident, captured on video, showed the man fleeing with eight dogs in pursuit after his unsuccessful assault on the women who were out walking their own dogs.
The man reportedly emerged from bushes and tried to drag one of the women away, but she managed to break free. He then targeted her friend before the dogs intervened. Video footage depicted the man running along Gardiners Creek in Kooyong as the dogs chased after him, forcing him to flee quickly.
Authorities from Victoria Police are investigating the attempted assault that took place around 11:30 am on Tuesday. They confirmed that the pursuing dogs belonged to the intended victims. The pursuit led the man into a tunnel under the Monash Freeway, where a blue heeler dog caught up to him, tearing a piece of fabric from his leg before he escaped towards the freeway underpass.
The police are now searching for a man dressed in a black tracksuit, white socks, slides, a grey hooded top, and carrying a large bright blue backpack, matching the description of the individual in the video. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
