“Royals Honor Cancer Research UK at St James’s Palace”

Kate Middleton recently attended a reception honoring the important work of Cancer Research UK alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla. The event, held at St James’s Palace in London, brought together the royal family to recognize the charity’s efforts in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Kate, who disclosed her remission from cancer last year, was joined by Charles II and Camilla at the reception, where they interacted with researchers, clinicians, volunteers, and partners involved in Cancer Research UK’s initiatives. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester welcomed the royals, showcasing immersive installations highlighting the charity’s impactful work.

Both Kate and Charles, who were diagnosed with undisclosed forms of cancer in 2024, have been vocal about their journeys. Kate underwent chemotherapy and shared her emotional experience during World Cancer Day, emphasizing the challenges and moments of strength that come with battling the disease.

Despite facing cancer, Kate has gradually resumed her royal duties, including a recent solo visit to Italy. The King, known for his successful US visit last month, also met with representatives and supporters of Cancer Research UK, including TV presenter Davina McCall, who shared her own cancer journey with Kate.

Cancer Research UK’s contributions to improving survival rates over the years have been significant, with advancements in research and clinical trials playing a crucial role. The charity’s efforts have doubled survival rates in the UK over the past five decades, a testament to their impactful work in fighting cancer.
