Primark has initiated a price reduction on a wide range of popular items as part of its latest campaign. The discounted items include customer favorites such as cotton-rich jeans priced at £9, pure-cotton pyjamas starting from £7, and viral boyfriend PJs for women and kids now priced at £13 and £8 respectively.
These price cuts also extend to kids’ ranges, with notable deals on tops and bottoms available for as low as £2 each. The revised prices are effective immediately on new collections in stores and will continue through the upcoming autumn/winter line.
In addition to lowering prices, Primark has enhanced the quality, fit, and style of its product ranges. The company has also improved the visibility of reduced prices in stores through clearer signage.
Matt Houston, Chief Customer Officer at Primark, emphasized the significance of value to modern customers and highlighted the company’s longstanding reputation for offering affordable fashion without compromising on style or quality. Primark recently reported a 1% increase in UK sales with stable like-for-like growth, citing a mixed performance driven by external factors such as the Middle East conflict and weather conditions.
Associated British Foods (ABF), Primark’s parent company, announced plans to separate the Primark retail business by the end of 2027. This move is expected to result in around £75 million of one-off separation and transaction costs, with potential loss of synergies post-split. The Weston family, through Wittington Investments, will retain majority stakes in both entities following the separation.
Mr. Weston, CEO of ABF, described the decision as a significant evolution for the company, enabling a deeper focus on the food business and unlocking growth opportunities for Primark in various markets. The split aims to optimize governance structures and leverage Primark’s brand strength and customer appeal for future growth and market expansion.
