A man is in critical condition in the hospital following a targeted attack in the city center of Manchester. The victim, aged 31, was discovered with stab wounds on Peter Street, Deansgate, an area known for its bars and restaurants. City of Manchester officers found him during their patrol around 3.40 am today.
After receiving first aid at the scene, the victim was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition according to a statement from Greater Manchester Police. Despite launching an investigation, no arrests have been made yet, and a police cordon is in place at the incident site.
Chief Inspector Mike Tachauer stated, “While no arrests have been made, I want to assure residents that we believe this was a targeted incident, and there is no broader threat to the community. Our investigative efforts are swiftly progressing to identify those accountable.”
