“Fatal Car Crash in Bradford City Center Sparks Police Inquiry”

A tragic incident occurred in Bradford city center where a male pedestrian lost his life, and two others, including a child, sustained injuries after a car veered onto the sidewalk and struck them. The collision involving a blue Nissan Qashqai took place on Market Street on a Sunday afternoon, prompting emergency services to respond at approximately 3.22pm.

The car, which allegedly moved away from traffic lights, hit a 31-year-old man, causing severe head injuries. Additionally, it collided with a 50-year-old man in a wheelchair in the pedestrianized zone. Despite immediate treatment by emergency responders, the 50-year-old victim was declared dead at the scene. The 31-year-old is currently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries in the same incident.

Following the tragic event, a 30-year-old Bradford resident was apprehended on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other traffic violations. He was subsequently released on police bail pending further investigations. Detective Sergeant Nina Roper of West Yorkshire Police emphasized the ongoing inquiries into the serious incident, urging witnesses or individuals with relevant footage to come forward to assist in understanding why the Nissan mounted the sidewalk.
