A 10-year-old boy is facing charges of attempted murder and rape for allegedly assaulting a woman during her jog in a park in France. The incident occurred in Gouëdic Valley park, Saint-Brieuc, Brittany.
Reportedly, the woman was approached by the young suspect who demanded her to undress. Upon her refusal, he allegedly stabbed her twice – once in the arm and once in the abdomen before fleeing the scene. Nearly a week later, law enforcement arrested a suspect matching the victim’s description.
Authorities found a knife believed to be used in the assault, as well as clothing consistent with the victim’s account. While official documents state the suspect is 10 years old, medical evaluations suggest he could be older, possibly around 14.
The suspect, who arrived from Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a year ago to live with his father, confessed to the attack during police interrogation.
