The UK is currently experiencing a significant heatwave with temperatures continuing to rise, and meteorologists are predicting even warmer weather tomorrow.
According to the latest forecast from the Met Office, temperatures could peak at 35C in southern areas and 31C in the north today. Tomorrow, temperatures are expected to reach 36C in the south and 33C in the north.
The GFS weather model also predicts similar high temperatures for tomorrow, with southern and western England possibly seeing 36C. Areas like Yorkshire could reach 33C, while the south-east around London might experience 35C.
Maps showing temperature anomalies for tomorrow indicate that a large part of the UK will face temperatures significantly above the usual seasonal averages, with some areas highlighted in deep red and black.
The GFS weather model suggests that seven counties in England could hit 36C tomorrow, despite the prediction of rain, especially in the north-west, which could be heavy at times. However, most regions are expected to remain dry with predominantly sunny conditions.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the Met Office anticipates highs of 35C in the south on Saturday and 32C in the north. Temperatures are forecasted to slightly decrease on Sunday to 33C and 29C respectively.
The weekend weather outlook mentions an easterly breeze particularly affecting the south, bringing clouds to the east coast while the west remains sunny and warm. There is a potential for showers in the southwest on Monday.
Although the current heatwave is expected to gradually ease next week, temperatures will still be warm. The Met Office forecasts that many areas will remain in the mid-to-high 20s early next week, with temperatures above average for this time of year. The warmer conditions are likely to shift further north and west as high pressure moves across the UK.
