“UK Heatwave: Red Warning Extended as Temperatures Soar”

Temperatures are set to soar close to 40C once again as a rare red warning for “extreme heat” has been extended, affecting 22 areas. The Met Office has disclosed that 22 regions in London, South East England, and East of England will experience temperatures surpassing 36C and possibly hitting 38C. Initially scheduled to end on Thursday evening, the red warning has now been prolonged until Friday at 9pm.

According to the Met Office, the extraordinary hot and muggy weather will persist in this area, with significant impacts on the general population expected. The heat will be accompanied by high humidity, leading to very warm and humid nights.

The forecasters further stated that the ongoing heatwave across a large portion of England and Wales will continue into Friday. The focus of the highest temperatures on Friday is anticipated to shift towards east and southeastern England, with maximum temperatures in the shade potentially exceeding 36 degrees Celsius, and reaching 38 degrees Celsius in some locations.

The Met Office emphasized that substantial disruption to daily life is probable, urging the public to take necessary precautions and adjust their routines to cope with these unusually high levels of heat in the UK.
