Tomorrow, the UK is set to experience thunderstorms as two weather fronts move through the country, according to the Met Office. Rain is forecasted for nearly all regions on Saturday, with some areas expected to face strong winds. Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin mentioned that England will encounter rain by Saturday morning, creating a wet and overcast start. While parts of the Midlands, Wales, and southern England may see some brightening skies, another band of rain is anticipated to follow.
The second weather front approaching will bring heavy showers and an increased risk of thunderstorms, particularly in Northern Ireland and Wales. Some relief from the rain is expected in the afternoon in the south-west of England, but the weather will remain blustery with strong winds uncommon for this season. Temperatures are predicted to be close to or slightly below June averages, ranging from 15°C in Northern Ireland, Wales, and the south-west to 19°C in the east of England. Southern areas may feel cooler due to the strong winds.
The BBC’s forecast indicates mostly cloudy conditions with ongoing rain from the south-west, with potential sunny breaks and isolated thundery showers later in the day, especially in the south. Sunday is expected to have variable cloud cover and showers, mainly in the west, possibly becoming heavy at times. Monday could see heavy rain moving in from the west, followed by sunshine once the rain clears. Tuesday might bring scattered thundery showers and sunny spells.
