“Autopsy Reveals Gruesome Details of Student Murders”

A recent autopsy has unveiled the extent of pain and suffering endured by the victims of Bryan Kohberger during a violent assault at a shared student residence.

The University of Idaho students, Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were tragically killed by multiple sharp-force injuries, with three of them being attacked while asleep around 4 am on November 13, 2022. Autopsy reports, unsealed by the Ada County court, detailed the chilling final moments of the victims at the hands of Kohberger.

Kohberger, a criminology student, was handed four consecutive life sentences after confessing to the murders. Authorities disclosed that Kohberger had visited the students’ residence on multiple occasions before the fatal incident.

The autopsies, conducted by Dr. Veena Singh, the chief medical examiner in Spokane, indicated that all four victims sustained injuries consistent with a “Ka-Bar Full Size US Marine Corps Fighting Knife,” believed to be the murder weapon.

Additionally, the reports highlighted that Kaylee suffered blunt-force trauma to her face, with indications that an unknown object was used to cover her mouth. Kernodle, who was not in bed during the attack, suffered wounds to her arms and hands. A leather sheath matching the knife was found near the victims, with Kohberger’s DNA identified on it.

Kohberger, who was attending classes approximately 10 miles from the students’ residence, was apprehended at his parents’ home in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2022. The release of the autopsy report coincided with ongoing court proceedings to provide further details to the public about the case.

Having been pursuing a PhD in criminology at Washington State University, Kohberger opted to plead guilty to avoid a death sentence by firing squad.

Recently, previously unseen crime scene images from the murders were briefly released by Idaho State Police, showcasing the aftermath of the violent struggle, with bloodstains evident on various surfaces and belongings. Following the dissemination of the photographs, Kristi, Gonclaves’ mother, expressed her strong emotions on Facebook towards Kohberger.
