A man tragically passed away due to a heart attack while attempting to move the lifeless body of his girlfriend, who was believed to have been murdered, through a wooded area, as per autopsy findings. The deceased individuals were identified as Jessica Folds, a mother of three from Lanett, Alabama, and the suspected perpetrator, Daniel Robbins, 44, from Macon, Georgia. Their bodies were discovered on June 10 in a wooded location near the rural community where Folds had spent her early years.
Authorities found Folds’ body, with her hands positioned above her head, just a short distance from her residence, Sheriff Jeff Nelson of Chambers County informed WTVM, confirming through an autopsy that she had been strangled. Robbins’ body was found alongside hers in a fetal position, with a noticeable trail suggesting the dragging of one of the bodies.
While the exact duration of their relationship remains undisclosed, public records indicate that Folds, a 47-year-old mother and grandmother, had lost her husband about a year earlier. Investigators suspect that Robbins committed the alleged murder during a domestic violence incident the previous night. District Attorney Mike Segrest revealed that Robbins likely suffered a fatal heart attack while trying to dispose of Folds’ body. The incident was reported by a passerby who noticed an abandoned vehicle with its engine running next to a dirt road. Drag marks led the authorities to the grim discovery of the deceased pair.
Folds, survived by three adult sons and two grandchildren, was described in her obituary as a compassionate individual who left a positive impact on many lives. Robbins, a father to a daughter, had his obituary removed from the funeral home’s website. The motive behind the suspected homicide remains under investigation by law enforcement.
