“Russian Air Assaults Claim 12 Lives in Kyiv”

A total of 12 individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries in Kyiv and its vicinity due to Russian air assaults on Tuesday, marking the sixth consecutive day of attacks on the Ukrainian capital.

Since initiating a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia has intensified its aerial offensives against Ukraine in recent months, particularly as its advancements on the battlefield have significantly slowed down.

Over the past five days, Kyiv and neighboring regions have faced a barrage of drones, causing casualties, property damage, and disruptions to daily life. The use of advanced jet engine-powered drones has made interception more challenging. The constant air-raid alerts have disrupted the routines of millions of residents.

The sound of more explosions was reported in the capital on Tuesday morning, according to a witness from Reuters.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, highlighted that Russian drones and ballistic missiles targeted residential areas and railway infrastructure in the intense overnight airstrikes.

Sybiha urged Ukraine’s allies to ramp up economic pressure on Russia and explore utilizing Russia’s frozen assets abroad to support Ukraine’s war efforts.

In response to the escalating situation, Sybiha emphasized the need for increased air defense support for Ukraine, particularly running critically low on U.S.-made Patriot interceptors capable of countering Russia’s ballistic missiles.

Reports confirmed that eight individuals, primarily railway workers, lost their lives in overnight attacks in Kyiv. Additional explosions were heard on Tuesday morning, resulting in three more individuals being injured in a daytime drone strike that ignited a fire in a high-rise apartment building, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

In Boryspil, located just outside Kyiv, four individuals perished, and 13 others sustained injuries in an assault targeting a residential building and other locations, as per Governor Tymur Tkachenko’s Telegram announcement. Among the casualties was an Indian national.

Yevhen Zavhorodniy, 44, shared his experience, pointing to a significant crater in front of a building in Boryspil caused by the attack. Despite the damage, he expressed gratitude for the safety of his family and belongings.

The Russian strikes also impacted a border crossing with NATO-member Romania in Odesa’s Black Sea region, leaving numerous families without electricity, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
