Premier Inn Apologizes After Guest’s Room Reassigned

A woman in Glasgow, Dominique Oldham, had a distressing experience when she returned to her Premier Inn hotel room after attending a concert with her cousin, only to find that the room had been given to someone else. Despite booking the room in advance and returning late in the evening, she discovered her key card was no longer working, indicating that her room had been reassigned.

Upon contacting the hotel’s reception, she was informed that they were fully booked, despite her explaining that she had already checked in earlier that day. To her dismay, she found out that her belongings had been removed from the room without her knowledge and that the room had been allocated to another guest. Frustrated with the lack of available rooms and the inconvenience caused, she was eventually provided a different room in a distant part of the hotel.

Feeling violated by the incident, Dominique expressed her concerns about the breach of privacy and security. She was unsettled by the thought that someone had entered her room in her absence. Despite checking that her belongings were intact, she could not shake off the unease and insomnia that followed that night. Despite filing a formal complaint with the hotel, she received no response, leaving her upset and disappointed.

After GlasgowLive reached out to Premier Inn for a statement, the company issued an apology to Dominique and offered a full refund, acknowledging that the situation arose due to an error by a staff member during check-in. They also extended a complimentary stay at a hotel of her choice as a gesture of goodwill, hoping to regain her trust and welcome her back as a guest.
