“Massive Blaze Engulfs Somerset Building”

Firefighters rushed to a significant blaze near a Marks & Spencer store in Somerset. Local residents were advised to keep their doors and windows shut due to the billowing smoke. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service deployed ten fire engines to combat the flames at an abandoned building on Kingsway. Multiple fire engines from various fire stations were dispatched to the scene following reports earlier in the afternoon.

Images depict a three-story warehouse engulfed in flames as emergency crews work to control the situation. The fire service reported that the building was fully ablaze, with crews utilizing three main jets to extinguish the fire. Due to the building’s structural instability, cordons were established as a precautionary measure.

In a later update, additional resources, including water carriers and aerial ladder platforms, were mobilized to the scene. Support was also provided by neighboring fire and rescue services from Avon, Dorset, and Wiltshire. The fire service urged nearby residents to keep their windows and doors closed to minimize exposure to the smoke.
