A man, Simon Peter Carman, 45, has been accused of murdering 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla in Pattaya, Thailand. The victim’s body was found concealed in a suitcase near railway tracks. Carman faces charges of murder, body concealment, body movement or destruction, and taking a minor for sexual purposes.
According to police, Carman allegedly strangled the teenager following a dispute over payment for sexual services on June 25. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Carman was in communication via WhatsApp with a local sex worker while Tunchanok’s body was allegedly hidden in his bathroom. The exchanges indicate Carman mentioning being tired and planning to go for a swim.
The woman who received the messages became alarmed upon learning of Carman’s arrest in relation to the alleged murder. Carman and Tunchanok, known as “Cake,” were last seen entering his apartment building together. Surveillance footage shows them holding hands as they entered, marking the teenager’s final sighting alive.
Reports suggest that Tunchanok messaged a friend upon arrival at Carman’s apartment, describing the messy room. It is believed that an argument erupted when Carman offered less money than initially agreed upon for services. Carman allegedly admitted to strangling Tunchanok, causing her death, before hiding her body in a suitcase out of panic.
Carman denies the murder accusation, claiming self-defense against Tunchanok who allegedly threatened him with a knife. CCTV footage captured Carman leaving his hotel with a large suitcase, which was later found to contain Tunchanok’s body. He was apprehended at the airport while attempting to flee.
The victim’s parents expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic incident. Tunchanok’s stepmother and father described her as helpful, kind, and resourceful, expressing disbelief at the turn of events. They mourned her loss and shared their deep sadness over the situation.
