Former Miss Universe Jamaica Contestant LaToya Malcolm Dies at 35

A 35-year-old former contestant of Miss Universe Jamaica has sadly passed away.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization shared the news of the death of LaToya Malcolm, an actress and dancer, through a tribute on social media over the weekend without disclosing the cause of her passing.

Expressing deep sorrow, the organization honored LaToya Malcolm’s memory and stated that she will always be remembered.

LaToya participated in the 2024 Miss Universe Jamaica pageant, where she stood out among the contestants, despite facing the loss of her father during the competition. Following the event, she won the Miss Jamaica Bikini International title and dedicated her victory to her late father with a touching message.

Apart from her involvement in pageantry, LaToya was known for her work as an actress and dance instructor. Additionally, she was dedicated to the Transition Project, a program aimed at aiding disadvantaged teenagers in their journey to adulthood.

Gabrielle Henry, the current titleholder of Miss Universe Jamaica, paid tribute to LaToya, emphasizing that her passing leaves a significant void and her influence and voice will endure.
