The family of a 24-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in her residence has expressed heartfelt sentiments for the young mother. Kirandeep Kaur, originally from India, was fatally assaulted in her home located in Hayes.
A man has been accused of Kaur’s murder. Gursharan, her sister, conveyed through a translator from the Majha region of Punjab, India, to the BBC that her sister meant ‘everything’ to her.
Gursharan, aged 21, shared that her sister had moved to London in pursuit of better job opportunities to support their family. A fundraising campaign on GoFundMe has been initiated to assist with the funeral arrangements.
The statement on the fundraiser page describes Kirandeep Kaur as a 24-year-old student from Punjab, India, who had aspirations of creating a brighter future for herself and her family back home.
Following a tragic incident on July 12, where Daniel Sean James, 46, allegedly attacked Kirandeep Kaur in her Hayes residence, he was reported to have sustained injuries while attempting to flee. James, allegedly wielding a large knife, was captured on surveillance cameras approaching multiple addresses before perpetrating the assault.
The court heard that James broke into the home shared by Mrs. Kaur, her husband, and their infant child. Mrs. Kaur’s husband witnessed the attack, and James was detained shortly after attempting to escape.
The defendant, a stranger to his victims, has been charged with the murder of Mrs. Kaur, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed weapon. James appeared in Court One of the Old Bailey and is scheduled for a plea hearing on October 1, with a trial set for April 5 next year. He remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
