In a tragic incident, an 86-year-old woman named Beatrice Carruth has passed away following a dog attack, as reported by the authorities. The unfortunate event took place at her residence in Moore, Oklahoma, on Thursday, July 2, in the late afternoon. Upon receiving a distress call, officers rushed to the scene at NE 27th Street and Highland Drive, where they found Carruth with severe injuries.
Immediate life-saving efforts were initiated by the officers, including the application of tourniquets to control the bleeding until medical responders arrived. Despite their efforts, Carruth’s condition remained critical as she was transported to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Moore Animal Control later removed the dog from her home following the incident, as per reports.
Expressing condolences, the Moore Police Department extended sympathies to all affected by the tragic occurrence. The dog involved in the attack was euthanized subsequently, confirmed by a statement from Moore Animal Control. Described as a mixed breed, the dog was identified as part Labrador retriever and part American pit bull terrier based on its physical attributes.
Further details emerged indicating that Carruth had been caring for the dog while her son, Jason Clay Ingram, was incarcerated. Court records revealed that Ingram had been arrested earlier for assaulting his mother and disrupting emergency communication at her residence. Family members disclosed that Carruth had been hospitalized for several days due to a previous dog attack incident after Ingram’s arrest, during which they had urged him to put the dog down. Despite their pleas, Ingram insisted that his mother continue looking after the animal.
Carruth’s relatives are seeking additional charges against Ingram, alleging that she was pressured into keeping the dangerous dog. The family is hopeful that further legal actions will be taken to address the circumstances leading to the tragic outcome.
