Passengers of EasyJet faced distress as a traveler, Dr. Ron Roberts, highlighted their plight at Montenegro’s Tivat Airport. Stranded for over 24 hours without basic provisions, the group described feeling abandoned by the budget airline amidst chaotic conditions.
Initially scheduled to depart for London Luton at 12:40 the previous day, Dr. Roberts and fellow passengers found themselves enduring overcrowding and prolonged delays with little assistance from airport personnel. The situation escalated when airport closure forced passengers to seek their own lodging outside, leading to uncomfortable circumstances and lack of essential services.
Returning to the airport the following day, Dr. Roberts detailed the ongoing struggle of passengers stuck near departures, waiting for flight updates. The ordeal worsened as hunger set in, with restrictions preventing reentry after leaving for food, leaving individuals in a dire situation.
Expressing concern for deteriorating health conditions, Dr. Roberts emphasized the lack of support from EasyJet, criticizing the airline for disregarding passenger well-being. The airline responded, attributing the delay to a bird strike and air traffic control limitations, expressing regret for the disruption and promising to investigate the inadequate support at the airport.
In response to the escalating situation, authorities and the airline pledged to address the concerns raised at Tivat Airport, recognizing the need for improved assistance and customer care during such incidents.
