“American Boxer Hannah Rapp Dies in Tragic Cycling Accident”

American boxer Hannah Rapp, who recently contended for the WBC women’s featherweight title, tragically passed away following a cycling incident where she was reportedly struck by a vehicle.

Rapp, aged 26, was overtaken by a car that abruptly stopped and then reversed into her, as per the Brazos County sheriff’s office.

The driver has been taken into custody and charged with manslaughter. Rapp’s title challenge took place in June, where she was defeated by Tiara Brown in Orlando, marking her record at 8-1-1.

Most Valuable Promotions, her promoter, expressed their condolences, stating, “Hannah was not only a talented athlete but also a respected figure within the boxing community.”

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman praised Rapp, referring to her as an outstanding boxer and a cherished member of the boxing fraternity.

Tiara Brown, her opponent in the title match, described Rapp as the most exceptional competitor she had faced professionally and shared a touching moment where Rapp requested her autograph before the fight.

Originally from Indiana, Rapp transitioned to professional boxing in 2024 while simultaneously working as a fire and life safety inspector.
