“Judge Judy’s Son Takes the Bench in New Daytime Series”

A new television judge has emerged on the scene, facing a challenging legacy to uphold. CBS Media Ventures unveiled a teaser on Thursday for “Adam’s Law,” a fresh daytime courtroom series featuring Adam Levy, the 58-year-old son of the renowned Judge Judy.

Fans of Judge Judy’s distinct sharpness, fiery demeanor, and intolerance for nonsense are in for a treat. The trailer showcases Levy mirroring his mother’s courtroom vigor, delivering clever and incisive remarks from the bench that would surely impress Judith Sheindlin herself.

Surprisingly, Sheindlin initially had reservations about passing on the judicial torch. In the teaser, she confesses that she wouldn’t have encouraged her son to take on the show several years earlier, jokingly admitting, “I wasn’t ready to give it up. And, quite frankly, I think he has the talent to beat me — and I don’t like the idea of that.”

Scheduled to debut on September 14, the new series, which Sheindlin executive produces, follows the conclusion of the original “Judge Judy” program after 25 successful seasons on CBS, where it reigned as the top first-run syndicated show with an average of 10 million viewers per episode.

With over 25 years of legal experience, including stints as a district attorney in New York’s Putnam County and teaching roles at esteemed legal institutions, Levy brings a wealth of expertise to “Adam’s Law.” He emphasizes the importance of honesty for litigants appearing on the show, expressing his disdain for falsehoods.

Sheindlin has full confidence in her son’s ability to carry on the family legacy and predicts that his show will become the leading daytime program. She praises Levy’s entertaining personality, legal acumen, and remarkable memory, suggesting that he possesses the necessary qualities to captivate audiences just as she has done for three decades.

A familiar face in courtroom reality TV, Levy previously presided over shows like “Tribunal Justice” and “Justice on Trial” on Prime Video. “Adam’s Law” is set to air on various CBS-owned stations across the U.S., including CBS LA and WCBS-TV, as well as in Canada on Citytv and Citytv+ starting September 14.
