Andrew Tate and his brother were apprehended in the United States after a police inquiry into multiple sexual offenses. The social media influencers, who boast a substantial following, were taken into custody in Miami on Saturday, July 18.
Andrew Tate, aged 39, and Tristan Tate, aged 38, are currently being held as 38 fresh charges have been levied against them. The allegations, dating back to 2012, were initially investigated by officers from Bedfordshire Police, leading to the authorization of charges by the Crown Prosecution Service.
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have been actively pursuing additional offenses reported to the local police. The total count of charges against the siblings has now reached 59, with 42 against Andrew Tate and 17 against Tristan Tate.
Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas emphasized the collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies and urged the public to refrain from speculation, allowing due legal process to unfold. The Crown Prosecution Service has sought the extradition of the Tate brothers from the US to face charges including rape, facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and offenses related to indecent images of a child.
The alleged offenses are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, with the CPS underscoring the gravity of the situation and the imminent extradition proceedings for the Tates.
