“Tragic Toledo Incident: Grandmother and 4 Grandchildren Die in SUV”

A tragic incident in Toledo, Ohio, claimed the lives of a grandmother and her four grandchildren due to carbon monoxide exposure inside a stalled SUV. The grandmother, identified as Candace McAllister, was driving her grandchildren when their vehicle experienced a flat tire. After pulling over and calling for help, all occupants were found unresponsive with the engine running when the children’s father arrived at the scene. Emergency services were contacted, and it was later revealed that carbon monoxide levels inside the vehicle were five times higher than the lethal limit.

The victims included Candace McAllister and her grandchildren: Liberty Coleman, Legacy Coleman, Storm Coleman, and Stone Coleman. Three children and their grandmother passed away shortly after being discovered, while Legacy Coleman was placed on life support but tragically succumbed to the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities confirmed that the incident was a mechanical accident with no signs of foul play, and the vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was impounded for further testing.

The children’s mother, Adriana Coleman, expressed her profound grief over the loss, describing her children as full of love and personality. Meanwhile, Toledo Fire Chief Allison Armstrong reported high carbon monoxide levels within the vehicle’s cabin during the investigation, emphasizing the need for a thorough examination to determine the cause. Toledo Police expressed condolences to the affected family, and the city’s mayor extended prayers for the recovery of the surviving children while acknowledging the efforts of first responders during the tragic event.
