Fatal Stabbing Near Hackney School Sparks Homicide Probe

Police in Hackney have initiated a homicide investigation following the fatal stabbing of a man this afternoon. The incident occurred near Mossbourne Community Academy and Hackney Downs Park at approximately 1:42 pm.

Authorities have stated that the stabbing does not involve any students from the school and is being treated as an isolated event. The victim, a man in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, with his family informed and receiving support from specialized officers.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the Metropolitan Police continue their inquiries. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command mentioned that the investigation is in its early stages, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke, responsible for policing in the area, expressed concern over the incident occurring in broad daylight near a school. However, she assured that there is no link to the school’s students and reiterated that updates will be provided to the community.
