UAE Travel Ban Lifted: UK Eases Advisory

The travel ban to the United Arab Emirates imposed by the Foreign Office has been lifted. Since March, the FCDO had advised against non-essential travel to the UAE due to the Middle East conflict. However, as of Thursday, June 18th, the advisory has been updated, no longer discouraging travel to the region. The Foreign Office has also issued updates for 14 countries, including Cyprus and Turkey.

Despite this change, the government body has issued a strong caution for British nationals regarding regional tensions. They mention that the US and Iran have reached an agreement related to the Middle East conflict, but the situation remains volatile, and potential attacks could occur suddenly.

British nationals are urged to be vigilant as before the April 8th ceasefire, the Iranian regime had expressed intentions to target US and Israel-affiliated locations in the Gulf. This included establishments and infrastructure linked to the US or Israel, such as businesses, facilities, and institutions. Iran has a history of targeting various civilian infrastructure in the region like ports, hotels, roads, energy facilities, and airports.
