“British Junior Golfer Finds Golf Ball on Giant Boa Constrictor”

A young female golfer from Britain was amazed when she discovered her golf ball resting on a six-foot snake while playing at a golf course in the UK. The 12-year-old junior golfer was part of a group being guided around Blackwell Grange Golf Club in Darlington by PGA Pro Aaron Cox. As she approached the fifth hole after hitting her tee shot, she found her ball next to a giant boa constrictor.

Boa constrictors, known for strangling their prey, are not native to the UK and are typically found in tropical regions. The snake, measuring six feet in length, surprised the young golfer and the group. Despite the shock, Pro Aaron remained calm, having encountered larger snakes in Australia where he is originally from.

The snake seemed docile as it rested near the hole, possibly abandoned as a pet and seeking refuge in the grass. Aaron and his colleague managed to safely relocate the snake to a pet shop, where it is reported to be in good health. The unusual encounter prompted an appeal to find the snake’s owner and raised awareness about the presence of non-native wildlife in unexpected places like golf courses.
