Sixteen passengers have been barred from Carnival Cruise Line after a violent altercation broke out while passengers were waiting in a customs line during their holiday. The incident occurred at 8 am on Monday, June 22, as the Carnival Conquest ship arrived at Port Miami, Florida, from a trip to the Bahamas.
The confrontation reportedly started when two women, one in a black strapless dress and the other in polka dot pajamas, engaged in a physical altercation. A third woman in a yellow and white maxi-dress joined in, escalating the situation. Other individuals also got involved in the scuffle as authorities tried to restore order.
Baggage and personal items were thrown around during the chaos, with one individual seen wielding a stanchion in the air. The brawl was eventually brought under control after a few minutes.
The cause of the clash between the two groups remains unclear, and no arrests were made as both parties chose not to press charges. Subsequently, 16 people have been added to Carnival Cruise Lines’ “Do Not Sail List” as confirmed by a company spokesperson.
The cruise company emphasized that the incident took place under the jurisdiction of US Customs and Border Patrol and commended law enforcement for their swift response. They stated a zero-tolerance policy towards such behavior.
This incident follows a similar altercation on a different Carnival cruise ship, where two women allegedly assaulted each other on a trip back to Mobile, Alabama, from Nassau, Bahamas. Both individuals are now facing federal court citations for simple assault and appeared before a judge in early May. They were informed that their case could be dropped if they avoid any further legal issues or contact with each other for three months, with a final ruling set for August 12.
