Tributes are being honored for a young girl who tragically passed away this week after a disturbing incident at a coastal park.
The tragic event occurred in the Chalkwell Park region of Southend-On-Sea in Essex during the early hours of Saturday, June 13. The victim sustained severe injuries and was swiftly taken to a hospital. Essex Police reported the arrest of two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, on suspicion of causing serious harm through reckless driving. They have been released on bail.
Authorities are urging any witnesses to step forward and assist in the investigation, noting the presence of a large group of youths in the vicinity when the incident occurred.
A recent statement from Essex Police stated, “A young woman who was seriously injured in an incident involving a vehicle in Southend has regrettably passed away. We were alerted to the Chalkwell Park area at approximately 12:30 am on Saturday, June 13, following reports of unauthorized access to a small articulated loading vehicle by a group of individuals.”
The statement continued, “An 18-year-old female sustained significant injuries in the Chalkwell Park incident. Despite being transported to the hospital, she has sadly succumbed to her injuries. Our investigation is ongoing, and we continue to provide support to her family.”
Moreover, an 18-year-old man from Westcliff and a 17-year-old boy, both arrested for causing serious injury through dangerous driving, remain on bail until September. Essex Police are seeking additional information from witnesses who may have observed the incident.
