Rory Clifford and Stephanie Harper, aged 36 and 35, invested their savings and earnings in constructing their dream residence in the mountainous Peloponnese region of southern Greece. The relocation process, planned meticulously over a decade, involved unforeseen expenses like replacing piping to ensure water supply, costing over £10,000. Despite their relentless efforts to overcome obstacles, the devastating wildfire forced them to start anew.
Stephanie’s sister initiated a GoFundMe campaign to aid the family in rebuilding their shattered lives, estimating a requirement of €100,000 (£85,000) to recover, even with insurance coverage.
