“Trump Avoids Discussing World Cup Loss, Focuses on Military Strength”

Following the elimination of the US from the FIFA World Cup, hosted in the country, President Donald Trump spoke out but avoided discussing the match outcome.

In a round-of-16 game on July 6 in Seattle, the US team suffered a 4-1 defeat against Belgium.

While Trump made remarks about the nation itself, he did not address the football team actively participating in the tournament alongside Canada and Mexico.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the strength and power of the US Military, highlighting historic recruiting achievements and high morale.

He stressed the importance of maintaining this strength by urging Congress to pass Reconciliation 3.0 with a significant budget allocation for defense.

Despite the World Cup loss, Trump did not touch upon the defeat in his statements.

The US president intervened in a red card issue involving USMNT’s Folarin Balogun, advocating for a review of the suspension imposed during the Bosnia and Herzegovina match.

Initially facing a ban for the Belgium game, Balogun’s suspension was postponed after discussions between Trump, Andrew Giuliani, and FIFA’s Gianni Infantino.

FIFA later announced the suspension lift, allowing Balogun, the top American goal-scorer, to participate in the upcoming matches.

Trump expressed gratitude on Truth Social for FIFA’s decision to reverse the suspension, labeling it a correction of an injustice.
