The family, consisting of Hania Ahmed, her parents Dr. Sindra Khan and Adeel Ahmed, and her brother Aafan, were on their way to visit relatives when they encountered two robbers at the home of Dr. Khan’s uncle, Ali Ejaz.
The robbers demanded the family’s jewelry, which they handed over before a confrontation ensued, leading to gunfire between the robbers and a police officer. Mistakenly identifying the family’s vehicle as belonging to the suspects, the police opened fire, causing the car to crash near their relative’s home.
