“Tragic Murder of 12-Year-Old Bobby Bloomfield in Essex”

Two individuals, a 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man named William Lunnon, faced charges of murdering 12-year-old Bobby Bloomfield, who tragically died after being hit by a car in Essex. The incident occurred on Ashwells Road in Pilgrims Hatch, prompting Essex Police to respond to reports of a vehicle colliding with a child. Despite efforts to save him, Bobby succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

According to prosecutor Rohini Majumdar, Lunnon had confronted Bobby and his friends on private property, leading to a chase where the defendants allegedly pursued the boys in a car driven by the teenager. The car struck Bobby, after which the teenager reportedly physically assaulted him before both defendants left him at the scene.

Lunnon, residing on Ashwells Road, was remanded in custody, while the 15-year-old was placed in a youth detention facility. Both appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court, where the teenager wore a quarter-zip jumper and jeans and confirmed his details. Lunnon, dressed in a grey prison tracksuit, also confirmed his information. The next court appearance for the pair is scheduled for Friday at Chelmsford Crown Court.

In a heartbreaking statement, Bobby’s family expressed their profound grief, stating that losing him has been a devastating experience. Essex Police also disclosed the arrest of two men and two women on suspicion of perverting the course of justice related to the incident.
