A tragic incident occurred at a popular reservoir where a young girl lost her life in a drowning accident, suspected to have happened while she was playing on a raft.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) was alerted on Saturday, July 18, at approximately 3:30 pm local time about a missing three-year-old who was feared to have drowned in Fleming Meadows Lagoon at Don Pedro Reservoir.
Upon arrival, responders found bystanders attempting CPR to save the girl, identified as Lailah Rosillo. Despite the swift efforts of the public, deputies, firefighters, and medics, she could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are now seeking information from the public regarding the incident. TCSO issued a statement on Facebook requesting photos, videos, or eyewitness accounts that could shed light on the events leading to the tragedy.
