Tragic Cliff Crash Claims Mother’s Life

A mother who tragically lost her life when the vehicle she was traveling in veered off a cliff in Spain will be laid to rest this Friday. Amy McCullagh, a mother of three from County Westmeath, Ireland, was on a holiday trip when the fatal accident occurred. Her husband, Ian McCullagh, who was also in the car, is currently in critical condition in a Spanish hospital.

The incident, which took place on the A7 motorway in Malaga, led to the deaths of Amy, Michaela Newcombe, and Mark McCullagh. Ian, who was married to Amy, survived the crash but sustained severe injuries. The tragedy unfolded in the early hours of June 28, with the vehicle plummeting 100 feet into a ravine.

A funeral service for Amy is scheduled at the Church of the Nativity in Ballynacargy, where she will be interred at Sonna Cemetery after the ceremony. Amy is survived by her two daughters and a son, with the family requesting donations to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust in her memory.

Described as a kind and vibrant individual, tributes poured in for Michaela Newcombe, who worked as a head receptionist at a beauty school. The community, including local Sinn Féin councillor Julie McCourt, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, offering condolences and support to the grieving families and friends affected by the tragic event.
