“Tesco Launches Digital Clubcard for 16-17-Year-Olds”

Tesco has introduced a new version of its Tesco Clubcard specifically designed for 16 and 17-year-olds. This update allows younger customers to access a wide range of Clubcard Prices deals for the first time and earn Clubcard points that can later be converted into vouchers. The standard Tesco Clubcard is typically available to individuals aged 18 and above, but the new digital Clubcard for 16-17-year-olds can only be accessed through the Tesco app or website.

To enroll in the program, teenagers must receive an invitation from a parent or guardian who has a Clubcard account. The parent or guardian can send a sign-up link to their 16 or 17-year-old by navigating to their account settings and selecting the “Invite to Clubcard” option. This feature is visible only in the latest version of the Tesco app. With over 24 million UK households holding a Tesco Clubcard, the company aims to expand its membership reach to younger age groups.

Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership & Loyalty Director, expressed excitement about offering younger customers access to the Tesco Clubcard. The new Clubcard for 16-17-year-olds allows members to benefit from Clubcard Prices in-store, including popular offers like the Tesco lunchtime meal deal for £3.85, and accumulate points that can be redeemed for discounts on their shopping expenses.

Tesco shoppers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel purchased at a Tesco forecourt. Additionally, points can be collected through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile services. By utilizing a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco, customers can receive five points for every £4 spent or one point for every £8 spent elsewhere. For Tesco Mobile users, one Clubcard point is awarded for every £1 spent on pay monthly bills or top-ups. A minimum of 150 points is required to obtain a £1.50 Clubcard voucher that can be used at Tesco.
