Two teenagers have been apprehended after reports emerged that a young girl was coerced into a vehicle within a Tesco parking lot. Essex Police disclosed that a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were detained on suspicion of false imprisonment and subsequently released on bail pending further investigations.
The incident occurred around 6:50 pm on August 3 at the Minton Lane car park at Tesco. Subsequently, the vehicle journeyed to Epping, where the girl stated she exited the car at Buckingham Road, near the intersection with Lower Swaines, at about 7:30 pm.
Authorities expressed gratitude to the public for aiding in the inquiry and reiterated the call for information. DS Paul Marks provided an updated statement, expressing appreciation for the information received and assuring the public that, based on current investigations, there is no apparent ongoing threat to the wider community. The victim is receiving support from specialized officers as the investigation progresses.
