“Successful Rescue After Seaplane Crash in East River”

Eight individuals were successfully rescued following a seaplane accident in a river, marking the second such incident within the last month.

The privately-owned Quest Kodiak 100 aircraft crashed into the East River in New York City on June 5, around midday while heading towards the seaplane terminal on the city’s east side. The plane had taken off from The Hamptons, a prestigious area on Long Island, and was seen partially capsized with one wing submerged.

Video footage depicted multiple vessels and another seaplane participating in the rescue operation between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Two passengers sustained minor injuries during the crash.

All passengers were safely rescued, and the seaplane was subsequently towed to the docks. This incident involving the Kodiak 100 plane represents the second seaplane rescue in the East River in recent weeks, following a prior incident near the Throgs Neck Bridge in Queens.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the crash, as stated by the police department.
