The Queen was praised for creating unforgettable moments for seriously ill children during a tea party and treasure hunt at Clarence House. Camilla, serving tea and cake, joined the youngsters in a chocolate treasure hunt and distributed party bags to the kids supported by the Dreams and Wishes charity. Despite the rain moving the event indoors, the children enjoyed Disney tunes played by a string quartet in the Morning Room.
Interacting with each child and parent individually, the Queen admired their outfits and encouraged them to enjoy the spread of sandwiches, cakes, and fruits. She playfully urged the children to indulge in the food, ensuring they felt special and cared for. Notably, she was moved by Rupert’s bravery and presented him with an award he received for his resilience in the face of health challenges.
The children were then engaged in a treasure hunt led by Major Treasure, tasked with finding the stolen treasure. With the Queen’s guidance, they successfully located the treasure, receiving party bags filled with goodies as a reward. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Camilla participated in various community activities, including cutting a cake with Paddington Bear and attending an event at the British Library for the National Year of Reading.
Continuing her engagements, the Queen also visited a London hospital to inaugurate a new roof garden serving critically ill patients, emphasizing the importance of outdoor spaces for well-being. Her meaningful interactions with children and contributions to various community initiatives were met with gratitude and admiration from those she encountered.
