Meghan Markle has shared that a valuable piece of advice from Prince Harry, which he gained during his time in the Army, has been a source of strength for her during challenging times. The Duchess of Sussex recently appeared in public for the first time since her visit to the UK, attending a special screening of the Girl Scout documentary, Cookie Queens, in Los Angeles. Alongside Harry, she serves as an executive producer of the film, and during the event, she engaged in a Q&A session with the documentary’s producer, Alysa Nahmias.
Reflecting on how she copes with life’s trials, Meghan, who will soon turn 45, mentioned a quote from her husband’s military experience. She recounted Harry’s words from his decade as a helicopter pilot in the British Army, where he would remind her that even amid a storm, the sun always shines above. This perspective, as she described, encourages looking beyond the immediate challenges.
Meghan has maintained a relatively low public profile in recent months, with her most recent appearance prior to the screening being a speech on online abuse in Switzerland in May. However, she recently shared glimpses of a family trip to the UK, including a visit to Althorp, the Spencer family home where Princess Diana, Harry’s late mother, is laid to rest.
Accompanied by Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Meghan detailed their visit to Althorp in the UK last month. She also posted a series of photos on her Instagram account, showcasing moments from their vacation, including time spent at the Northamptonshire estate now managed by Earl Spencer.
The images depicted various family activities, such as Lilibet exploring the gardens, Harry and Archie carrying bouquets, and the family enjoying beach and pool time in Portugal. Notably, the pictures did not capture the Sussexes’ reunion with the King and Queen at Highgrove, which took place two weeks ago.
Harry and Meghan’s trip to see their grandfather at Highgrove marked the first time in four years that their children visited him, as previous security concerns had deterred such visits. Although Meghan and the children did not accompany Harry to London due to security issues, arrangements were made to ensure their safety during the visits to Highgrove and Althorp later in the week.
The couple’s recent activities also included Harry’s engagement in charity events in the UK, promoting causes like the Invictus Games. Despite some travel restrictions, the Sussexes managed to navigate security concerns to facilitate their family visits and engagements.
