A man named Waleed Saeed, 31, residing in Ilford, east London, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison by Snaresbrook Crown Court for his actions involving young Muslim individuals on Snapchat. The Metropolitan Police revealed that Saeed impersonated young or transgender women on the platform to coerce intimate images from young men. Subsequently, he extorted money from them by threatening to expose their true identities to their families, communities, universities, workplaces, and friends.
Detective Constable Peter Collington, the lead investigator, highlighted the deliberate manipulation and cruelty displayed by Saeed towards his victims, two of whom were minors aged 15 and 17. Saeed was found guilty of 17 offenses, including rape, blackmail, and creating indecent images of children.
The investigation began in August 2024 when a man reported being raped in a London park after exchanging explicit images with someone he believed to be a transgender woman on Snapchat. Subsequently, Saeed threatened the victim and revealed his true identity, leading to coercion and sexual assaults during late-night meetings in a park.
Following months of investigation, officers traced Saeed’s online accounts, leading to his arrest in November 2024. He faced charges related to rape, blackmail, and other offenses against multiple victims. Further examination linked Saeed to similar incidents dating back to 2018, involving the exploitation of victims through threats of exposure.
Additional charges were brought against Saeed in March 2025, and he pleaded guilty to offenses against multiple victims. These charges included threats of exposure, blackmail, creating indecent images, and other forms of exploitation.
Saeed was also issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Protection Order. The police urge individuals who may have interacted with Saeed using various Snapchat usernames such as “blsup” and “ComeDeal” or under false identities like “Trans Girl Leah” to come forward. Detective Constable Collington emphasized the importance of supporting all victims and encouraged those who have not yet spoken out to seek assistance.
Victims or individuals with information related to Saeed’s actions are urged to contact the police at 101, quoting reference 5335/18JUNE2026.
