A Member of Parliament (MP) leading the reintroduction of the assisted dying bill emphasized that the Prime Minister (PM) cannot obstruct the proposed significant legal amendment. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has expressed the need to address issues in palliative care and social care before advancing the assisted dying debate. However, despite his stance, Labour MP Lauren Edwards intends to proceed with the bill’s second reading.
