Iranian TV warns US of repercussions for potential attack

Iranian state-owned TV issued a warning to the US about potential repercussions if an attack were to occur on Iran, stating it could lead to significant unrest in the region. The statement was made by a Lebanese Hezbollah official on the Press TV network. The official mentioned that the US might consider launching an attack but is hesitant due to uncertainties about the aftermath. He also highlighted President Trump’s intentions to negotiate with Iran or dismantle its regime, emphasizing that hostile actions from the US would not easily displace Iran’s ruling Islamic establishment. The official suggested that a US attack on Iran could result in a political upheaval, likening it to a “volcano.”

Tensions in the region have escalated following President Trump’s announcement of sending a naval fleet towards Iran. The deployment reportedly includes the USS Abraham Lincoln, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, along with guided-missile destroyers, submarines armed with Tomahawk missiles, and reinforced air defense systems. The region is on high alert, with F-15 fighter jets stationed at US bases, including in Jordan.

In response to the escalating situation, Iran’s Supreme Leader was reportedly moved to a secure underground shelter in Tehran. The commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard issued a warning to the US and Israel to avoid any misjudgments, emphasizing Iran’s readiness to act upon directives promptly.

Recent protests in Iran have been met with severe government crackdowns, resulting in a significant number of casualties. Reports suggest that thousands have been killed, with many more deaths under investigation. The situation in Iran remains volatile, compounded by an ongoing internet blackout.
