Singer and actress Selena Gomez faced a lawsuit on Thursday from investors who accuse her of fraud for not fulfilling her obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors had put in close to $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as per the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
The investors alleged that they were promised Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the marketing head. They claim that both Gomez and other top executives of the company failed to meet their commitments, such as the development of a mobile application.
According to the lawsuit, Gomez purportedly agreed to a contract to carry out certain tasks but did not adhere to it. The plaintiffs stated that the company did not have any valid business prospects and failed to meet essential obligations like timely payment of staff and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez did not provide an immediate response to the request for comment. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were reported in an online news article in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking reimbursement for their investments along with legal expenses.
