“Harry Kane Leads England’s ‘Wonderwall’ Singalong in Dallas”

Harry Kane expressed his joy at singing ‘Wonderwall’ with fans in Dallas, calling it one of his cherished World Cup moments. After defeating Croatia 4-2 in a thrilling opening match, the team took a lap of honor to show appreciation to the supporters.

In the grand Dallas stadium with a capacity of approximately 70,000 for the World Cup, the players joined in singing the Oasis hit ‘Wonderwall.’ Kane, aged 32, shared, “That was one of my favorite moments in an England shirt, especially at a major tournament. We understand the significance of the fans’ support and vice versa.”

He added, “Singing ‘Wonderwall’ in the stadium with everyone singing along was truly special. We anticipate a lot of celebration back home, and we appreciate the passion of the fans.” Kane disclosed receiving voice notes from David Beckham, congratulating him on reaching 115 caps, tying him as the third most capped player alongside Wayne Rooney behind Peter Shilton.

Speaking on the Lion’s Den podcast by the FA, Kane expressed pride in sharing this achievement with his childhood idol, Beckham. He also acknowledged the support and encouraging messages from Beckham, emphasizing the significance of reaching 115 caps and equalling Gary Lineker’s 10 World Cup goals.

Jordan Pickford, 32, acknowledged the fans’ support and predicted increased attendance at the forthcoming group matches. He highlighted the mutual passion between players and fans, aiming to create more memorable moments for the supporters.

The official ‘England song’ chosen by World Cup organizers after matches is ‘Chase the Sun’ by Planet Funk, known for its popularity at the World Darts Championship. Pickford humorously mentioned thinking of the pop group Darts but appreciated the celebratory atmosphere among his teammates.
