Fresh witnesses could hold crucial evidence in the murder case involving a UK influencer, recent reports indicate.
Brooke George, aged 23, is currently detained in Dubai following murder charges related to the death of William Treeby, aged 26. The incident took place at an upscale apartment in Dubai last week.
Hailing from Gravesend in Kent, Brooke faces the possibility of a death sentence by firing squad if found guilty. She claims she acted in self-defense after allegedly being assaulted.
Detained in Dubai, an advocacy group, has provided what they deem relevant information and intelligence to authorities in the UK and UAE.
According to The Sun, five individuals, including Brooke, William, two of his friends, and a maid, were present at William’s apartment on the night of the fatal stabbing. It is reported that one of the friends made contact with individuals in the UK shortly after the incident.
Advocates believe that these communications, along with data on the men’s mobile devices, could aid in establishing a timeline of events, identifying additional witnesses, and preserving critical evidence before it is lost.
William was scheduled to stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court for conspiracy to supply cocaine as part of an investigation by Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team. The Sun reports that he was one of seven defendants in the case, including one of his flatmates in Dubai.
Court records reveal that William had a prior conviction for unlawful wounding and common assault, for which he received a suspended 14-month prison sentence over two years.
Detained in Dubai’s chief executive, Radha Stirling, mentioned that the organization had shared intelligence with relevant authorities in the UK and UAE. Stirling emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to consider all pertinent information given the serious nature of Brooke George’s situation.
Stirling further stated, “Justice must not rely on incomplete evidence or overlooked leads,” underscoring the importance of a comprehensive and impartial inquiry.
Advocates advocate for interviews with individuals in the UK who received calls from the apartment after William’s demise. They stress the urgency of securing any mobile phone data available before potential deletion or loss.
