Freeview has confirmed that on May 20, 2026, some broadcasters will be modifying their channels. Viewers are advised to retune to keep their TV Guide and channels current.
Among the alterations, two channels have undergone name changes. Hobbycraft TV on channel 97 is now known as Shop Unlimited, and Great! Romance Mix on channel 61 has been replaced by Great! TV +1.
Additionally, there have been shifts in channel numbers. Great! Movies has moved from channel 61 to channel 62, with Great! TV +1 taking its former place.
Freeview emphasized that channels are constantly evolving on its platform as individual providers decide to relocate, add, or remove channels. The platform is committed to offering audiences diverse and engaging content.
If the updates are not reflected on your TV, manual retuning may be necessary. To retune your TV, follow these steps:
– Press the menu button on your TV or set-top box remote
– Select “set-up”, “installation”, “update”, or a similar option
– If prompted for a password, try “1234” or “0000”
– Choose “first-time installation”, “factory reset”, “full retune”, or “default settings”
– Confirm deletion of existing channels if prompted
– The retune process should initiate automatically
– Save any new channels found during the scan
