Police in Northern Ireland have provided an update following a tragic incident where a woman, her daughter, and a man were found dead in what is believed to be a double murder-suicide. The victims, a 39-year-old woman, an 8-year-old child, and a 41-year-old man, all members of the same family and originally from Poland, were discovered at a residence in the Old Cullybackey Road area of Ballymena.
Authorities were called to the scene around 9am and located the bodies inside the property. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is treating the case as a “double murder followed by a sudden death” and has launched a murder investigation, appealing for any information from the public.
Detective Inspector Dickson confirmed that the 39-year-old woman and her daughter were victims of murder, and the investigation into the circumstances of their deaths, as well as that of the man, is ongoing. He assured the public that there is no ongoing risk and no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the case.
DI Dickson expressed condolences to the devastated family members and friends affected by the tragedy, emphasizing the need for privacy during this difficult time. The PSNI has urged anyone with information to come forward by contacting detectives or providing details anonymously through Crimestoppers.
