The family of a two-year-old boy is seeking donations to create a memorial bench based on the child’s favorite TV show following his tragic passing in a swimming pool incident in Spain.
Hartley Wareham, the younger sibling of Exeter City forward Jayden Wareham, passed away recently. During the ongoing inquest, it was revealed that Hartley’s father retrieved him from the water and administered CPR before emergency services arrived.
Although paramedics managed to revive him temporarily, Hartley’s health deteriorated, leading to his demise five days later after receiving extensive medical care.
In memory of Hartley, his father, Darren Wareham, initiated a JustGiving campaign to fund a customized Hey Duggee memorial bench. Describing Hartley as a source of immense joy and love, the fundraiser aims to honor his passion for Hey Duggee and his love for playing in the family garden.
The bench will serve as a special place for the family to reminisce on cherished moments with Hartley and seek solace during difficult times.
Rather than flowers or gifts, the family believes a lasting memorial would be a meaningful tribute to their beloved son, with any surplus funds raised going towards grief counseling to support their journey forward.
